Intro:
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
Verse 1:
My style is ultra sick
No time to hide or hold it in
Gotta look to bright side of covid
I got more time to hone my gift
Write some colder things
Highlight the zone I'm in
The scene this year blood I might take over it
Don't try oppose the kid
Cos I'm not perfect but the mic composure is
Sometimes I over think
What am I supposed to bring, could've been
Challenging my mind to loads of things
But I wanna lockdown the scene just like corona did
And it ain't for the ice or frozen wrist
Maybe to buy the home and whip
So how am I supposed to quit
When I know this is the life I chose to live
Chorus:
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
You take over the scene
Yeah yeah
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
You take over the scene
Yeah yeah
Cos they don't wanna see
You take over the scene
Cos they don't wanna see
You take over the scene
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
You take over the scene
Yeah yeah
Verse 2:
I've got to go for it
Own the boat own the yacht then own the ship
Make a mistake then I've got to own the shiz
There's no point tryna duck the ownership
I ignore the dumb come over hints
I ain't tryna run through loads a tings
Cos I might end with a son like Homer Simp
And I know what my bros would think
And when ya on the road to win
Some friends you'll love to phone and bring
But some of them will stunt ya growth cos in the
Back of their head you're not supposed to win
They wanna be the headline, but in reality they're just the opening
You gotta drop the load, cos they'll
Be by ya side but just to hold ya wings
J2K:
They didn't wanna pass that ball
They knew I would've rarsed that ball
How many times must man get a man of the match
Can't get an international call
Spin a man out of his trainers still like
It was all fashionable
And I hold up my hands
If that was your ting I was smashing them all
I don't wanna sound too flagrant
But the fragrance was splashing the walls
And I say that just to say this
It's a flex cos they wouldn't flex with me at all
Remember when you man was acting like members
When I was tryna pull up my stool
Well guess what I came back with a new agenda
So now I got my hands on the ball
And now I've got my hands on it all
Chorus:
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
You take over the scene
Yeah yeah
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
You take over the scene
Yeah yeah
Cos they don't wanna see
You take over the scene
Cos they don't wanna see
You take over the scene
Cos they don't wanna see
Yeah yeah
You take over the scene
Yeah yeah

Manga is the only one out here making pure, forward-thinking Grime like it used to be. No cash-in nostalgia, no catering to radio plays; just pure lyricism and cream-of-the-crop production. Remember when Grime had humour and humanity? When MC's had personality and originality that was uniquely British? Before autotune, German whips and 'manaman sells crack and manaman will shank ur mum' became the norm? This is like that. Golden.
Big up Manga - keep doing your thing. You deserve to be massive

Grime, a descendant of garage, dancehall and hip-hop born roughly a decade ago on the streets of the UK, is now entering maturity, with several of its stars finding themselves experiencing the trappings (and the traps) of major label success. But there’s also an increasing universality in its subject matter and themes, and a playfulness … Continue reading Album of the Week: The Surgery EP → Bandcamp Album of the Day Dec 5, 2011
